This database indexes Japanese periodical articles published from 1868 to present time, including local periodicals not present in other indexes and those published in former Japanese colonies. The database merges data from the National Diet Library’s Zasshi Kiji Sakuin (Japanese Periodical Index of 19,514 journals held by the NDL), the National Institute of Informatics’ CiNii (index to Japanese studies research articles, and Webcat (a union catalog of the academic libraries in Japan).
This database is the world's most comprehensive index to zoological literature. Records cover every aspect of zoology, including biochemistry, behavior, ecology evolution, genetics, and so forth. Over 5,000 international serials plus approximately 1,500 non-serial publications are currently monitored, including professional journals, magazines, newsletters, monographs, books, reviews, and conference proceedings.
